Triangle
Leadership, Strategic & Business Management

Abstract / Subject
Successful project management has been defined for decades by time, budget and scope. Yet, the number of failed projects continue to be higher than the number of successful projects in every reputable study. Tie that together with the projects that do come in on time, on budget and within scope and still are considered failures and you have to wonder where we are going wrong.

There are multiple root cause reasons that project fail but it is time to refocus from the triple constraint to a value based system. Do your company’s projects align to your strategic objectives? Are you measuring the success of those efforts in terms of value recognized by the company? Is there still a divide between what the sponsor wants and needs and what they end up getting?

Laura will focus on outcome management as a better way to increase the value you bring to your organization. We’ll start on examining a Strategic Alignment Process as step one towards moving your PMO from tactical to strategic.
