The role of the project manager is changing. Project managers are be required to take on a more strategic role, deliver more business benefits, and produce more sustainable value. The types of projects are changing. Digital transformation, value and strategic driven KPIs, and innovation cannot be embraced using traditional thinking. Approaches to managing projects are changing. Agile, strategic alignment, analytics, and artificial intelligence require new skills, methods and processes. The evolving project management process is becoming an integral part of the business model.

This presentation presents some ways to think differently about how you manage projects.

The following will be discussed: 

  • Discovering relevance, readiness and innovation
  • Incorporating value-based project management
  • Rethinking stakeholder analysis and engagement
  • Examining relevance to ensure strategic outcomes
  • Ensuring results are significant and sustainable

 

About the Presenter:

Len is the only person on the planet with a patented method for creating innovations and problem solving. He is passionate about helping companies rethink to get unstuck. For the past 25 years he’s helped many businesses across several industries, reduce costs, improve customer service, and increase market share and revenues by creating a culture of strategic "rethinkers" and problem solvers.

He has a Certificate in Project Management from Boston University School of Management and is PMP certified. Len applied his expertise at IBM, Chase Bank, American Express, Volkswagen Credit, Marsh & McLennan, American Medical Association, HUB International, City of Chicago, and the Metropolitan Opera. He has trained and coached several 1000 professionals and is an active PMI mentor.

Len presented his perspectives at the ProjectTalks Chicago, Project-Summit/BA World Conference, American Society of Trainers and Developers, Society for Human Resource Management, Columbia University School of Management, Cornell Club, and Asia-Pacific Executive Banking Conference.

He is a member of the PMI Chicagoland Chapter and a volunteer on the chapter’s Certification Committee and ACT-SO (Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics) youth program.
