PDUs - Professional Development Units

PDUs are Professional Development Units needed to maintain and renew PMI certifications. Most PMI certifications are renewed every three years upon completion of 60 PDUs during that period.

The PMI Chicagoland Chapter maintains PDU attendance records in case of an audit. 

Report Your PDUs Online

Recently, PMI has made updates on how to report PDUs. PDUs are now based on the PMI Talent Triangle.

The simplest way to report a PDU is to log into the PMI.org site, find the myPMI tab and click.

  1.       Once you are in the myPMI area, you should be showing your profile.

  2.       Displayed on the right will be the Certification Status. Find the Report PDUs button, and click.

  3.       Determine within which category the PDU should be claimed and click on that area.

  4.       In the top section, simply fill in as much information as you have available.

  5.       Use the toggles to place the correct number of PDUs in the correct area of the PMI Talent Triangle.

  6.       Click the box to agree that your claim is accurate.

  7.       Press the Submit button. All done!

(An email will be sent to you notifying you that you have submitted a claim. Another email will soon follow advising if the claim is accepted, rejected, or needs more information.)
