A Message from PMI Chicagoland Chapter President

Ravi Avasarala, PMP, DASSM ( Chapter President 2025 - Present )

Dear PMI Chicagoland Members,
It is with great pride and pleasure that I begin my term as President of the PMI Chicagoland Chapter. Let me start by introducing myself—not just as a project professional, but as a passionate volunteer who joined PMI in 2009. I had the privilege of serving on the Board for six terms until 2019, when I took a short break to reenergize and return in 2023 with renewed purpose.
In my day job, I serve as an Enterprise Delivery Program Manager in the PMO, where I lead change and collaborate with business partners across enterprise-wide initiatives. This role allows me to stay connected to the evolving needs of our profession and bring that perspective into our chapter’s strategic direction.
At PMI Chicagoland, I embrace the role of a Servant Leader—it is my honor to be the first person to serve you. My focus this year is clear: to serve, provide services, and position our chapter as a role model for servant leadership. Together, we will continue to build a community that inspires, empowers, and drives meaningful change.
I am deeply committed to continuing the legacy of leadership our chapter has built over the years. We will scale our impact and leave a lasting footprint for others to follow. I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to all our members for giving my fellow Board Members and me the opportunity to serve you in 2025–2026.
I also want to recognize and thank my fellow Board Members—those continuing their service and those joining us for the first time. Your dedication fuels our mission to explore new paths and advance the project management profession.
As PMI prepares to launch its Single Membership model in 2027, our chapter is getting ready to be at the forefront to lead the way. We aim to be the model chapter that empowers people to turn ideas into reality, fostering innovation and inclusion across our community.
This season reminds me of training for a marathon—each step, each mile, each moment of preparation matters. Similarly, our journey as project professionals is fueled by continuous learning, purposeful engagement, and the joy of giving back. Whether you're leading a transformation at work or mentoring a fellow member, your impact is real and lasting.
We’ve made great strides this year—from energizing chapter events, Symposium, and workshops to expanding our volunteer base and strengthening partnerships.

I personally invite you to stay engaged, share your ideas, and bring your unique energy to our chapter. If you have not yet volunteered, now is the time to get involved. There is something to give and get for everyone, and the rewards —both personal and professional—are beyond measure.
Thank you for being part of this vibrant community. Let’s keep moving forward, together and stronger.
